Let's assume you're a novice at bartending and want to shock and awe your party guests with an effective display of skill. If you've never tried rainbow shots, line up those glasses and read on for a crash course in one of bartending's proverbial card tricks.
Tipsy Bartender has shared some of the most outrageous bar concoctions this side of the Internet, with everything from "glow in the dark" black light Jello-O shots, to a salty watermelon watermelon bowl that's a seasonal hit. And with every video comes a fair amount of questionable onscreen banter between the bartenders to keep things interesting.
But this one, for sure, is among the more impressive of their cocktail endeavors (and it'll make you look like you know what you're doing behind the bar, which is an added bonus).
Here's what you'll need for your rainbow of liquor:
- Grenadine
- Sweet & sour
- Orange juice
- Vodka
- Blue Curaçao
What your essentially doing here is layering each stock based on its weight, adding your blue Curaçao last. It’ll sink to the bottom of your mixer, and you’ll have a few seconds to execute your rainbow. But if you succeed? You’ll be reigning bartender for the evening (that is, unless someone else actually knows what they’re doing).
