This Turotial Makes Trying Checkered Nail Art Much Simpler Than It Looks

When it comes to nail art, I'm not much for the tricky stuff. After all, how in the world are you supposed to pull off some of those intricate designs and still have the patience and or time to get where you're supposed to be? No thanks, is what I have to say to that.

And that's why we love the hacks from YouTube nail guru Sandi at Cutepolish — she's an expert in finding easier ways around the tricky, time-consuming designs that we love. Like her hack for creating straight horizontal lines — who would have ever that dental floss was the key to perfecting that design? (Not me, that's for sure.)

And that's precisely why we love her hack for checkered designs: it saves us time and a headache (and you can totally use other colors besides black and white). This is how awesome and easy this is, in three easy steps:

  1. Draw two lines vertically across your nail (make sure they’re evenly spaced).
  2. Draw three additional lines horizontally across your nail (again, evenly spaced).
  3. Fill in the grid boxes using a dotter, toothpick, or pencil tip.

And that’s the whole thing. Forget drawing squares from scratch when you can do it like this!
