At a national park in Africa, a baby giraffe named Kiko formed an unusual yet astonishing bond with a little elephant named Loboito.
We've seen plenty of cases of dogs and cats becoming friends, including the memorable friendship between a blind feline named Cheeze and a Labrador named Radi. But, it's even more fascinating to see wild animals like these becoming inseparable. Who could forget about the bear and tiger who miraculously love to snuggle?
The rescued animals are seen below doing almost everything together at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s Orphanage in Kenya’s Nairobi National Park. It’s a sight to see as Loboito follows Kiko wherever he goes and doesn’t seem intimidated by the fact that the latter is much bigger in size.
"Kiko is extremely trusting and affectionate with his carers and has been from the moment he was rescued, and he loves spending time with the youngest elephant calves," Rob Brandford, the executive director of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, told Barcroft.
It's certainly a good thing these two were rescued because they wouldn't have made it without their mother's milk at such a young age. And they are now being well taken care of at the national park.
"Our dedicated team of keepers substitute for the orphans' families and are with the babies 24 hours a day — even sleeping alongside them in their stable at night," Brandford added.
