When a group of senior citizens were asked how society viewed them, they came up with some pretty heartbreaking self-descriptions. Their sense of self-worth dwindles as day after day they're surrounded by a community that doesn't seem to care about them.
But this powerful video shows what these "old" people actually are: human beings with incredible stories. Many of these members of the greatest generation risked their lives in some of the deadliest wars that the world has ever known just to ensure the freedoms we all enjoy so much today.
They're soldiers, artists, volunteers, and incredible people all around. So to give them any amount of disrespect is utterly ridiculous!
Thankfully, there are still some people out there who happily go through incredible efforts to help these seniors have incredible lives. Like the non-profit group "Wish of a Lifetime," which helps seniors from all over achieve the dreams they've always had hidden deep in their hearts.
Like the woman who always dreamed of playing the piano in a grand concert hall in front of a huge audience, this amazing group goes through extraordinary lengths to show the world just how important our senior citizens are.
These people all deserve respect and appreciation, and we're happy to see that more and more of them are finally getting the respect they've always deserved!
