In developing nations in Africa, thousands of mothers lose their babies in childbirth due to lack of medical supplies and technology. These women are left heartbroken, and sometimes in serious medical crises themselves.
When a group of moms-to-be in Belgium learned of this, they wanted to help. They were lucky enough to have access to comprehensive prenatal care, and wanted to help other women who desperately needed it. But how?
Together, the women hatched a plan so that they — and their unborn babies — could aid the moms and babies in Africa. It involved some paint, some tape, and a bit of patience.
The result was “Unborn Artists,” a unique way of creating paintings where the collaborators are an expectant mom and her unborn baby.
We've seen some pretty interesting art projects involving pregnant women, but this one actually uses the baby's kicks and motions in utero to create abstract art.
Check out how they did it below, and how these paintings are giving other babies a chance.

To begin this unique project, paintbrushes are loaded with paint and taped to the women's bellies.
They sit positioned so that the bristles of the brushes are just touching a mounted canvas.
And then they wait patiently.
Suddenly, when, their babies begin to move, the brushes move, too — leaving abstract areas of paint on the canvas.
The finished paintings show the movement of the babies in the womb.
The paintings are then auctioned off, and the proceeds are donated to provide medical care for pregnant women in developing nations.
In addition, 'Unborn Artists' also sells kits so that other moms-to-be can try this at home.
Watch the video below to see how these enchanting paintings are created.
The proceeds of these paintings will go on to SOS Children's Villages, a charity organization that helps children around the world.
