What to Know
At age 79, President Donald Trump has repeatedly tried to assure people that he’s healthy and doing well. In November 2025, when angry about a New York Times article about his health, Trump admitted that his energy levels will decline one day but insisted that it hasn’t happened for him yet. He also frequently brags about all of the cognitive tests he’s taken. But a recent photo of the president has people questioning this narrative.
The photo in question was taken when Trump was in Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum.
People think the photo has a ‘deer in the headlights’ vibe.
It’s almost difficult to describe Trump’s expression in the viral video, which is maybe why one X user who shared it captioned it with, “WOW, this photo is really something.” Others noticed that Trump looked confused in the image, while others thought that he was maybe just sleepy. And to be fair, at “least his eyes are open,” as one person pointed out.
Of course, it’s just one photo, and we don’t know exactly what was happening when it was taken. But that didn’t stop people from speculating about Trump’s current health condition. “I see fear, uncertainty, insecurity, confusion, poor posture…and dementia,” someone observed.

Trump previously claimed photographers just catch him at bad moments.
Photos of Trump sleeping during important events have also gone viral on social media, but during an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Trump claimed that he just likes having his eyes closed. “I’ll just close [my eyes],” he said. “It’s very relaxing to me.” He also blamed photographers for the viral photos that show him sleeping (or not sleeping, according to him). “Sometimes they’ll take a picture of me blinking, blinking, and they’ll catch me with the blink,” he claimed.
But it doesn’t help that another photo of his hand also went viral.

In addition to catching Trump looking confused, photographers managed to snap photos of Trump’s hand bruising at Davos. To some, the bruise looked worse than ever. But when questioned about it, Trump reiterated that he bruises easily due to taking aspirin.
“I’m very good,” he told a reporter on Air Force One, per The Hill. “I clipped it on the table.” He said the bruising is “one of the side effects of taking aspirin.” Trump continued, “I would say take aspirin if you like your heart, but don’t take aspirin if you don’t want to have a little bruising. I take the big aspirin. And when you take the big aspirin, they tell you, you bruise.”
