You Can Now Purchase This Massive South Georgia Bunker… For $17.5 Million

Throughout history, the popularity of bunkers has varied. Used during the World Wars, they were a stronghold for soldiers and their secrets. During the Cold War, the bunker became a necessity and commonplace in many American households, much like food or indoor plumbing today. Nowadays, with our modern knowledge of nuclear warfare, the bunkers of yesteryear have become mostly obsolete. My garage has a tiny one, but it's used for storage  much like everyone else's, I suspect.

But bunkers aren't all these tiny, dingy holes our parents and grandparents needed in the event of a catastrophic event. In fact, check out the one in south Georgia that was recently put up for sale for a cool $17.5 million!

The residence was built in 1969 by the Army Corps of Engineers, renovated in 2012, and can withstand a 20-kiloton nuclear blast with its three-foot-thick walls. The bunker sprawls over 20 or so acres, and has decontamination showers and an updated air intake system.

But this isn't just a practical living space  it's also a very luxurious one! The bunker also features 12 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a recreation room, a gym, a home theater, and a workshop! That's more amenities than most houses have to offer!

Prior to being put up for sale, the bunker was used as training facilities for military and government personnel.

But if you have $17.5 million to spare, you can buy this home for yourself!
