Service dogs have proven to be beneficial to individuals who have disabilities or ones suffering from certain illnesses.
We've seen the remarkable results, thanks to a video shared by a woman whose service dog helped her during a terrifying seizure.
But, for some, service dogs may not be an option because of the cost. That's the issue for a boy named Paul Collins.
The Bright, IN, resident, 11, has experienced brain stem seizures since he was born, due to epilepsy. He can't do much without being supervised. A service dog would certainly help, but it would cost a whopping $22,000.
"Everything we do is a quality of life versus what's a danger for him and we pick his happiness, but it'll be nice if we can pick his happiness and also his safety at the same time," Paul's mom, Tricia Collins, told Cincinnati's Local 12.
Thankfully, some children stepped in to help Paul live a fuller life. As you'll see in the video below, these incredible children have found ways to raise money for Paul's four-legged friend.
"Little kids came with sweaty palms and opened up their hands and gave me the change from their piggy banks," Tricia added. "If you think kids aren't amazing, you've never met these kids because they're making my son's life better."
