4-Year-Old Only Wants To Help Dogs This Holiday Season

Many children have tons of items on their Christmas wish list, but for Grace Coyikaendall, it's not about her during the holiday season.

Instead of focusing on her own gifts, the 4-year-old from Tampa Bay is giving to the sheltered animals at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Her good deed, reminiscent to the 3-year-old boy from Alaska who gives to the homeless, proves that even the younger generation can make a difference.

Little Grace heads to the shelters with baskets of treats for the animals who are waiting to find their forever home. It's hard to ignore her chipper demeanor as she participates in the volunteer work.

And the young girl's love for animals isn't anything new.

“We fostered for the shelter for a long time, so starting on her second birthday, she started collecting food and this was her third year of doing it,” her mom, Jean Ann Coyikaendall, told WFLA News Channel 8. "I'm very proud of her because now it's something that she chooses to do on her own. She has plenty of toys and things, so it's nice that she wants to do something nice instead of just get more."
