Plus-Size Woman Breaks Down Stereotypes In Powerful Penningtons Ad

Diane Bondy has been told a lot of things because she is a plus-size woman. In the video below, she makes a powerful statement about stereotypes and judging a book by its cover that has since gone viral. If anyone has ever told you that you can't do something because of your size, you need to see this.

The advent is done in collaboration with Penningtons, an affordable clothing line for women of all sizes. In it, Diane, a yoga instructor, busts stereotype after stereotype. They say she has no balance, now watch her balance on one foot in a difficult pose. They say she can't lift her own weight, now watch as she does a headstand. They say plus-size women make others uncomfortable, well, that's the problem of unkind strangers. Diane's body may not be what other people want it to look like, but that doesn't mean she doesn't know how to use it.

Penningtons' statement says, "The fact of the matter is that our world is still filled with stigma, stereotypes and unrealistic expectations…  Instead of trying to change ourselves to fit an arbitrary standard, let’s change perceptions. As advocates for body diversity and size acceptance, we at Penningtons want to work with you to create a new convention: that beauty, strength, and confidence come in different sizes, shapes, and heights."
