Intense Social Experiment Tests How People React To Sexism

Discrimination against women in the workplace isn't anything new, but a group of filmmakers wanted to test how people would react to seeing it right in front of their eyes — and some passersby weren't too thrilled.

TrollStation, a YouTube channel which often performs social experiments, released a video showing an intense interaction between two construction workers in London. The female manager is seen complaining to a male worker about his work and his inability to meet deadlines.

The male actor doesn't take her criticism very well and begins bashing her for having a higher position than he does since she is a woman.

"You shouldn't be my manager. You know why? Because you're a woman," he's heard saying. "You know where you should be? In my kitchen! That's where the woman should be … in the kitchen of the man's house."

He went as far as to say, "Your looks probably got you to where you need to be. That's what it is."

Like other social experiments, including the one demonstrating whether or not female military members get the same respect as their male counterparts, the reactions were mixed. While some people stepped in to slam the male worker on his views, others avoided the confrontation all together.

Warning: The video contains some explicit language that some may find offensive.
