Over the years, Sir Anthony Hopkins has made quite a name for himself for his flawless acting talents. He used that talent to win himself an Oscar in his memorable role as the serial killer in the legendary thriller The Silence of the Lambs.
But not a lot of people know that Hopkins has always held another talent a bit closer to his heart over the long years. Ever since he was a young teenager, he has always had a profound love for music. He loved to listen to music, he loved to play music, but above all else he loved to write music.
It turns out that Hopkins is a true Renaissance man with many impressive talents. While we're used to seeing his pure skill as an actor, it turns out that he has quite an ear for making beautifully flowing music all the same.
Back in 1964, the 27-year-old Welshman composed a special waltz that he assumed would never be heard titled "And the Waltz Goes On." It took over 50 years, but when Hopkin's wife sent the music sheet over to the legendary Dutch violinist and performer André Rieu, he instantly knew he had to perform the actor's music for the whole world.
In the emotional video below you can see Hopkins reaction to hearing his music performed for the very first time as it was meant to be heard. With a full orchestra of talented musicians, Hopkins has finally had his deepest dream fulfilled to have his music played for a live audience!
