Cameron Diaz And Husband Benji Madden Are Not Hiring Any Help For New Baby Raddix

Cameron Diaz is excited to soak in every moment of motherhood. The 47-year-old actress and husband Benji Madden welcomed their first child late last month. They announced their big news shortly after the new year with identical Instagram announcements. The two are now parents to a little girl, Raddix Madden.

Cameron and Benji have been talking about kids for a long time, so they're elated about their new bundle of joy. People reports that the couple is doing it all on their own. They have yet to hire any help for taking care of Raddix, sources say. Not only have they not hired anyone, but they allegedly don't plan to. Cameron's been out of the spotlight for some years now, deeming herself "semi-retired." Benji continues to work on his various music projects. Both are free enough to get this done on their own. They're excited to tackle parenting together and focus on their little family.

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden started the new year by announcing the new addition to their little family. The couple announced that they welcomed a baby girl. They didn't share any photos of Raddix Madden, but they're clearly elated to be parents.

Cameron and Benji tied the knot in January 2015. They had gotten engaged the previous May. While Cameron had previously spoken out about not being interested in having children, being with Benji changed that.

The last time she publicly commented on motherhood was in an interview with the Telegraph in 2014. "I’ve never said never to anything in life. If I wanted kids, at any point in life, I would have them," she noted.

"But I’m certain that if at any point I wanted a child, that child would find its way into my life, whether through adoption, or through being in a relationship with somebody who has a child," she continued.

"I can’t see the future, but one thing I do know is that I’m not childless. I have a ton of children in my life."

She also spoke about it during an appearance on Chelsea Lately in 2012. "I just kind of like how things unravel and life kind of reveals itself to you. And I’ve just never been in the place where I was like, ‘Right now is the time I’m supposed to have a baby,’" she noted.

"But I do want my own family eventually, however that comes to me, whether it’s through adoption or [through another method]."

A source told People that it took the right relationship for Cameron to reconsider. "It took some maturing, growth, introspection and learning to find the right kind of guy before Cameron took any kind of steady relationship seriously," they explained.

"Not only in the dating department but even more importantly in bringing a child into her daily life."

Cameron and Benji have spent the first five years of their marriage getting themselves ready to start a family. For them, that meant "getting healthy, lowering stress levels and doing everything to be positive." Now that time has come.

It's also perfect because the couple took the time to determine it was really what they wanted. "Cameron really wanted to be a mom," a source notes. "Cameron and Benji were hoping they would be blessed with a baby."

Because they spent so much time getting everything together, now that Raddix is here, they're looking to spend all their time dedicated to her. "Cameron wants to spend every second with the baby," a source says. "Their close friends are extremely loyal, so it’s not strange that they were able to keep it quiet."

Cameron hasn't taken on any acting projects since 2014's Annie reboot. In 2018, she told Entertainment Weekly that she considers herself "semi-retired." That gives her plenty of time to devote to Benji and Raddix.

"While she was always in the spotlight, she was never comfortable in that role. It was stressful, and over the years it took a toll on her. She needed a break," the source explained. Another source added that she "loves married life and just being with Benji."

She also spoke about stepping away from the spotlight when talking to InStyle for its 25th-anniversary issue. "I started [experiencing fame] when I was 22, so 25 years ago — that’s a long time," she pointed out.

"The way I look at it is that I’ve given more than half of my life to the public. I feel it’s OK for me to take time for myself now to reorganize and choose how I want to come [back] into the world. If I decide to."

"I don’t miss performing," she stated bluntly. "Right now I’m looking at the landscape of wellness and all that. But whatever I do, it has to be something I’m passionate about — something that just feels effortless."

It seems like Cameron's mindset was right. She and Benji focused first on their relationship, then on their lifestyle. When they were happy with how everything was going, they were able to extend their love to their precious baby girl. Now they embark on the adventure that is parenthood as a team.
