5-Year-Old Girl Saves Her Blind Grandmother From A House Fire

Being a firefighter is no easy profession. The physical labor requires those who take on the position to be ready at a moment's notice to help whomever might be in need. Even our four-legged friends need their help every now and then. Whatever the case may be, it's always about being in the right place at the right time to save a life.

At just 5 years old, this little girl may already have what it takes to be a full-fledged firewoman! Her name is Cloe Woods, and the sweet girl was clearly paying attention during her visit to the local fire department in Kenner, LA, on a field trip with her class. Months after learning hands-on about fire safety, Cloe was able to put those lessons to the test when flames ignited in her grandmother's home.

With her mother away dropping her brother off at school, Cloe was left to help guide her blind grandmother and their pet dog safely away from the house. Even when the elderly woman tried to stop to put her shoes on, the brave pre-K student demanded they focus on leaving the house, putting her grandmother's hands on her shoulders to lead her out the door.

Once they were all outside, Cloe contacted a neighbor to call the fire department. The family is currently staying in a hotel while they await a more permanent solution.
