Eight years ago, animal lovers across the world suffered an incredible loss with the death of Steve "Crocodile Hunter" Irwin. During a video shoot in the open water of the Great Barrier Reef, the Australian wildlife protector was fatally speared in the heart by a stingray on September 4, 2006. The world was rocked by his death.
Throughout his amazing career, Irwin made it his life's work to promote animal and environmental conservation and protection. His wife and children have picked up where he so abruptly left off, which as this video points out was one of his biggest hopes and aspirations.
