There was mass outrage all over Australia recently when a Pizza Hut and a pet store in Melbourne banned together to create the worst marketing campaign ever!
Over the weekend, concerned animal loves noticed a sign in a Pizza Hut franchise restaurant that read "Buy any 10 large pizzas, get one free small animal from Pets Story." Enraged, citizens took to social media, calling out both Pizza hut and the Pets Story pet store for running a campaign that basically treated small animals like toys.
"Pets given away is wrong. Pets given away with food promos is bloody disgusting. You don't deserve one star," wrote one disgusted woman on Pets Story's official page.

Oscar's Law, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping animals, quickly called out both Pizza Hut and Pets Story.
A spokesperson from Pet Story claims the campaign was actually a mistake.
A spokesperson for Pets Story claims that a word was missing from the poster – "kit" – which would have made the campaign read "get one free small animal KIT from Pets Story," but that seems like an awful big error to have everyone in charge of marketing miss, don't you think?
"It was for a hermit crab kit or a fish kit." The spokesperson goes on to say. "The condition was if someone came into the store and wanted to redeem it, we would ask them what pet they had and then they could receive an update on their kit — such as a fish bowl."
However, a woman from a local animal organization says she went to Pets Story and spoke to an employee there, who admitted "the store thought it would be good promotion for their business and were planning on giving away guinea pigs and rabbits."

For the record, Pizza Hut is claiming that the campaign was never okayed by them.
Hopefully this story serves as a reminder that animals are living, breathing things that deserve love and respect, and should never be used to sell products!
