‘Little Women: LA’ Star Christy McGinity’s Premature Baby Dies At 2 Weeks Old

The star of Little Women: LA, Christy McGinity, is grieving a heart-wrenching loss. Her baby, Violet Eva, who was just 2 weeks old, died on March 20. The baby was born seven weeks premature and was in the intensive care unit while the family waited, hoping for her to gain strength. They shared updates on their social media accounts while in the hospital, helping fans stay in the loop about progress.

On Monday they announced that the unimaginable had happened two weeks after their daughter’s birth.

“It is with our deepest sorrow that we send our baby girl Violet Eva Carazo to play with the angels,” Christy and her boyfriend Gonzalo Justo Carazo told People in a statement. “We were able to spend two weeks with our sweet baby girl and for that we are forever thankful.”

They added, “Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated.”

Christy and her boyfriend were overjoyed at the birth of their baby, but with the early delivery, of course the parents were also fearful. They confirmed she arrived on March 6. The baby was seven weeks early.

Born at 33 weeks gestation, Violet Eva was a tiny little girl. She arrived measuring 15 inches and weighing 3 lbs., 15 oz. “The family welcomes your thoughts and prayers, but requests privacy during this difficult time,” a rep for the reality star told People at the time.

Despite the baby's early arrival, the couple seemed hopeful. They continued to share on social media, as they had throughout Christy's pregnancy. Just last week, dad Gonzalo Justo Carazo shared an update. He wrote on Instagram, "Happy One Week Old Birthday to our Baby Girl Violet . Thank U for making me a Dad and bringing me an entire new perspective during your first week of Life . We love you so much!"

Signing the Birth Certificate!

Christy also shared updates with fans and followers. Last week, she shared a sweet picture of her boyfriend signing the baby's birth certificate. While clearly the couple had a lot to worry about, it seemed like they were feeling optimistic about a recovery.

Now the two are mourning an unimaginable loss. Coming home from the hospital without your baby is just devastating. It's something no one should ever have to go through. The couple is asking for privacy during this intensely difficult time.

Christy's pregnancy had not been easy. Though we didn't know exactly what was going on throughout, she did share on her Instagram that she was nervous and emotional. She'd also had some early contractions and asked followers to pray for her. Then, she went into labor at 33 weeks.

Because the couple had been so open about their journey, they had so many people who were overjoyed for them. Their happiness and positivity was contagious. It seemed the couple did a great job of coping with a challenging pregnancy together, too.

It can be even harder to go through tragedy while in the public eye. So hopefully the privacy they asked for will be given. At the same time, the couple deserves so much love and support from the people who are closest to them.

Christy also has two children from previous relationships. She's shared updates about her older children, Autumn and Trenton, on Instagram, as well. Christy seems to be close to both kids. So hopefully, she will be able to hold her children close during this difficult time.

We're sending all our love and strength to Christy and her boyfriend. Because the reality star lives her life in the public eye, we expect to hear more from her soon. While it's an unimaginable loss, Christy will without a doubt help give a voice to other parents who have lost children through her experience.
