Ashlee Simpson and her husband, Evan Ross, are expecting their second baby together. The singers announced the pregnancy on Instagram, writing, "We are pregnant and we are so excited to share it with everyone." This will be Ashlee's third baby. Ashlee and Evan are mom and dad to 4-year-old Jagger, and Ashlee shares 11-year-old Bronx with her ex-husband, Pete Wentz.
Last year, Ashlee and Evan told Us Weekly that they "definitely" wanted to have more kids, they just needed to find the right time. Ashlee and Evan also said that they usually bring Bronx and Jagger out with them while they're working, and they plan their tours around school schedules. "Majority of the time we’ll have them with us. Obviously there’s school and stuff to figure out, but majority of time they’ll be with us."
The two have been married since 2014 and have collaborated on several projects together. They released a duet album titled Ashlee + Evan in 2018.
Ashlee has also said that she's really thankful for her ex-husband, musician Pete Wentz, and his girlfriend, Meagan Camper. "They’re wonderful. It could go all different ways. I think the fact that there is a lot of respect amongst all of us. That makes it easier. And we’re all really close friends. It’s easy, we got really lucky with that."
Pete and Meagan have two children together: 5-year-old Saint and 23-month-old Marvel.
Ashlee and Evan were first linked in 2013, after they were spotted together. They also attended a party for Ashlee's sister, Jessica Simpson, that summer and seemed to officially confirm their status as a couple. Evan said that he knew he was in love with Ashlee after only a few months together.
While at the premiere for his movie The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Evan said, "I’m so in love and we’ve got amazing things going on. And we inspire each other." He also added, "She's the one."
They ended up announcing their engagement in January 2014, and they have never looked back.
Ashlee and Evan got married at the home of his mother, Diana Ross, in Connecticut in 2014. Jagger was born in 2016, and all reports indicate that Evan was extremely doting while Ashlee was pregnant with their daughter. Diana was also present at Jagger's birth, watching as the baby was delivered into the world.
Evan said that the funniest part of the day was "probably our parents coming in before it was time to come. I was like, 'What are y'all doing? While [Ashlee] was having the baby, we said we were going to do it just us, but then we saw both our parents behind the curtain watching. Also, those nurses can't stop my mom! Like, Diana Ross just walks in."
There's no telling who will be present in the room when this baby is born, but if Diana insisted on being there once … she'll probably be there again. I doubt anyone who has followed her career was surprised by this news!
Ashlee and Evan haven't shared a due date, but they did share that they are helping to support March of Dimes as the organization contributes to ongoing COVID-19 efforts.
