I don't mind the cold. I love skiing in Vermont and Colorado, and shopping in New York City during the Holidays. I think I'd be sad to live in a place that didn't have seasons – including winter. What would Christmas be without a little snow on the ground, right?
Winter wonderlands are great and everything, but I don't know if I could tolerate winter if we started seeing freaky fog like THIS is my neck of the woods.
The best thing about social sharing is that we can see extreme weather from the comfort of our own computers without actually having to experience it. This weekend, an Imgurian who goes by the name of tinytinyspoons shared a weather phenomenon in Hungary that made me want to crawl under a double layer of down comforters while wearing my winter jacket while sipping on a never-ending mug of hot chocolate!
After you see this, I bet you'll never complain about a little bit of frost again. Please SHARE this freaky weather with all of your friends!
"This fog came rolling through the Hungarian mountains, rapidly dropping the temperature," the photographer wrote. "Looks like normal fog, right?"
WRONG. This is a type of "frozen fog" that will turn every plant and small object in its path to solid ice.
It froze twigs, branches, logs...even whole trees!
You can almost FEEL the the wind whipping in this picture. BRRR!!
Note: This photograph is not upside down!
Want to see what happens to our adorable animal friends in this catastrophic frozen fog? Check out what a bison and a bear look like when they're in the line of a massive gust of icy fog by jumping to the next page…
Fences crystallize when they're hit by frozen fog.
In extremely cold climates, structures are no match for the layers upon layers of ice.
While smaller animals may wind up frozen solid (YIKES!), many animals who make brutally cold climates their home are well-equipped to be coated in sheets of ice. This bison might look like a frozen yeti, but he's fine. He's "chilling," if you will.
This ice-covered grizzly is also equipped with natural insulation to keep him warm, in spite of his chilling appearance.
Bald eagles can also withstand extremely frosty conditions...though their nestlings cannot.
If this freaky frozen frog made your jaw drop, please SHARE with your family and friends!!
