The most wonderful time of year just wouldn't be as magical without the sound of bells, horns and strings and the amazingly talented group The Piano Guys know this well. When it comes to Christmas music, these guys know exactly what they're doing.
That's why when I found this mashup they did of two classic carols, "The Carol of the Bells" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen", I knew it was going to be something special. However, nothing prepared me for this amazing performance by Stephen Sharp Nelson on the cello.
Nelson wrote on YouTube "I love these two carols – they were made for each other – they both capture the excitement of the Christmas Season. I have three children that just get giddy during December — excited each morning as they get closer and closer to Christmas Day. That excitement is so contagious. I love it. It's the kind of energy and eagerness that keeps you up at night. I wanted to capture that joy and anticipation in this arrangement."
And capture the joy of the holiday season is exactly what he did. This performance is what makes Christmas the most beautiful holiday.
