As a child of the '70s, I grew up loving all of the old variety shows: Donny and Marie, Sonny and Cher, Flip Wilson. I enjoyed getting to spend one hour in front of my television each day where I'd get to see a little bit of comedy, some music, dancing, and even some specialty acts all in one program.
Some were big hits for me, and others were a bit of a flop. Recently, a friend sent me this nutty video of a 1970s dance group performing a bizarre dance all about being cats. I'm a big fan of dance (I go to the ballet as often as I can), but fortunately, I haven't seen something like this on the nights I've paid for tickets.
It almost reminds me of the Andrew Lloyd Weber musical Cats, but not quite as good.
Once the initial shock of what I was watching subsided, I watched it again and couldn't stop laughing. What were they thinking?
