While most dogs get excited for treats and toys, a golden retriever named George finds pleasure in something far different — tennis.
George's owner shared a hilarious YouTube video of his canine watching a tennis match on television, and the golden retriever is seen jumping with excitement throughout the clip. At one point, George becomes so entranced by the televised sporting event that he grabs his own ball and continues hopping around.
In the meantime, George's owner also pans to his other dog, Annie, who isn’t nearly as intrigued by the action.
“The Australian Open is on right now, which means my Golden Retriever is in heaven. George will watch this all day. While he does love all sports, tennis is his favorite,” the video’s caption reads.
But it’s not unusual for dogs to spend time watching TV. Pooches are able to discern the images they see on television, especially ones of animals, according to a report by National Geographic.
The publication also explains that the way a dog responds to what it sees on the box — barking, jumping, or ignoring — may correlate with its personality or breed, which can explain the very different reactions between George and Annie.
