When I think of luxury vacations, of bed and breakfasts, of destination spots, I don't exactly think of the word wagon. Wagon doesn't exactly invoke "cool" so much as it does "prairie." If you're anything like me, these rentable wagons will completely blow your mind. I love seeing what cunning people can do with small spaces like tiny homes and these wagons are no exception.
These Romani-inspired wagons, or caravans, have a rich and interesting history. Known as a vardo, the old-fashioned, horse-drawn wagon used by British Romani were known for their elaborate and decadent interiors. While these gorgeous modern versions reference the vardo of the 1800s, nothing really comes close to the real thing. I'd give my left foot to experience just a little bit of the nomadic culture, though, so these will totally suffice. I mean, after all, I do want my Wi-Fi and electricity.
The best part is that these wagons aren't only for looking at — you can actually stay in them! Each wagon is available to rent over at Airbnb. Headed to France or the U.K.? You might want to consider these hotel (or hostel) alternatives.
Imagine waking up to a gorgeous fireplace for a rustic breakfast.
