The Tiny House Movement is known for three important things — affordability, sustainability, and innovation. But the main word in this adjective trio is innovation, because with innovations like solar panels, space-saving compartments, wheels, and salvaged materials, you can’t have sustainability or affordability.
But sometimes the innovation is just in the visual appeal. And boy does this 484-square-foot cabin, called “Ufogel,” in Austria’s Tyrolean Alps have that in spades!
I mean, just look at this cabin! It’s so unique that when you first look at it boggles your mind, begging you to wonder — “What exactly am I looking at?”
It’s got a lot going for it visually. It’s on stilts, has lovely layers of wood, oddly shaped windows and — hey, let’s just call it how it is — an odd shape in general. But it’s so appealing, as is its cool steam punk/1970s sci-fi movie vibe.
But just wait until you see the inside…
Nestled within the stunning environment among the centuries-old buildings, the teeny abode stands out without overpowering its beautiful surroundings.
The house boasts both flowing curves and sharp angles working together to make a strange, yet appealing, structural design.
The metal stilts beneath elevate the home, enhancing views and leveling the floor with little impact on its environment.
A wood-burning furnace heats a kitchen with a stove, sink, and countertop, all backed by aluminum backsplash.
The clever kitchen table isn’t just a piece of furniture, it’s also part of the home’s skeletal structure.
As is this lovely lounging area.
That has spectacular views!
Up the stairs are even more surprises.
Like a loft with a huge king-size bed!
There's also a private, smaller bed to the side for a guest.
And yes, there's more! How much can you stuff into this tiny home? Lots!
There's plenty of storage space.
And a fully functional bathroom.
This house is certainly a small wonder.
