The important thing to remember about life's firsts is that they're never going to happen ever again. Once that moment comes and goes, the only place it's ever going to live on is in your memories (or, these days, on Facebook or YouTube, right?).
That's why it's so important to do your very best to treasure those moments and make sure they're as memorable as possible. I mean, how many of us remember our first kiss, first date, or first car these days?
In the beautiful video below, uploaded by Farm Sanctuary, you'll get to see a great reminder that these important life's firsts don't only apply to humans; animals also get to experience their firsts in a very special way.
The video follows an infant lamb (with meconium-stained fleece and all) through some of the most adorable "firsts" I've ever seen.
It leans over and gets its first "kiss" courtesy of another infant lamb. Then it takes its harrowing first steps, it's first suckle from Mama, before finally get its very first bit of rest.
It's a series of absolutely beautiful moments, but it's also a call to action to give animals the same compassion you might give to the people in your life. Farm sanctuaries give these creatures the chance to experience these firsts when they might not otherwise be able to.
How many of your firsts do you remember?
