Drag racing has been around since before cars were even invented in the form of runners trying to sprint faster than their opponents and horses racing down a straight track.
Car aficionados love their drag racing, though, as proven by the wild success of movies like The Fast and The Furious series, starring Vin Diesel, the Rock, and the late, great Paul Walker.
Drag racing is simple: You sit in your super-car, your adversary sits in theirs. When someone says "Go!" you press the gas pedal and you try to make your car drive faster than the other person's car.
After a quarter mile, the first car to pass the finish line wins the race, along with glory, fame, and all the money.
That's all well and good: two cars racing each other at breakneck speeds, competing one-on-one in a true test of wills, skills and confidence. This video however, is a bit different…
MotorTrend's YouTube gives us the most incredible drag race in the history of the world. In it, not two, but 11 cars all race each other to prove to the world which car is the best of them all.
The Contenders:
- BMW 1-Series M
- Ford Mustang Boss 302
- Porsche 911 GT3 RS
- Chevy Corvette Z06/Z07
- Ferrari 458 Italia
- Nissan GT-R
- Audi R8 GT
- Mercedes SLS AMG
- Lexus LFA
- Porsche Cayman R
- Lotus Evora S
Do you think this was a fair match up? BMW seems a bit underrepresented here. Putting a 1-series up against some of these super-cars seems a bit unfair. Also — where’s the Bugatti!?
Who do you think is going to win?
