This super simple, inexpensive craft basically has everything. Not only does it make for beautiful decor that is fully functional, the project has a fun little twist that would make it fun for kids, too!
So what do you need? A cardboard box, an X-ACTO knife, and some glue. Yeah, it's that simple. I bet you probably have most of these materials lying around the house anyway.
I love DIY projects because they accomplish three things: 1. They get rid of my ever-lingering boredom. 2. They promote environmental sustainability (since they generally involve repurposing old materials). 3. They almost always cost way less than if you had gone to a store to purchase a pre-made product.
Little home projects like this are a great way to do something productive (that isn't answering your emails) that will have longterm results. With every little project you save money and beautify your home. There's nothing I hate more than coming home to a place that, well, doesn't feel like home. I'm all about aesthetics — and if things don't look right, then I don't feel right. With ongoing DIY projects, slowly but surely, those mantel pieces, shelves, and office supplies will began to paint a more pleasant picture.
So take a little time out of your day to work on a fun project, and check out what this woman does with a mere cardboard box. The end result is beautiful and functional!
