I've never seen anything like this. I was browsing the internet for some DIY projects when I stumbled upon this insane car trailer project.
An imgur user detailed his incredible (and creative) homemade half-car trailer. What's even more bizarre is that this isn't all for show… He literally converted an old car into a trailer.
Projects where old objects are made into new ones are a testament to peoples' endless creativity, like the woman who turned her old TV into a dog bed or the guy who turned an old cooler into a rustic ice chest.
The idea isn't only innovative, it's aesthetically very cool. I can't imagine that it's legal, but could the half be used as an set of extra seats?
What I loves most about this project is that it turned a tired, old car that would've ended up in some dump into something useful and cool. It goes to show that, with a little elbow grease and some tools, anything is possible. This may not be a project that's as simple as "1-2-3," but the time and effort put into it is definitely worthwhile.
I've got to thank the person who created this for sharing these fantastic photos!
SHARE if you think half-car trailers are too cool!
Looks pretty incredible, doesn't it?
Yes, that's a real car with a half-car trailer.
I bet everyone is freaked out driving behind this guy.
Yep. That's how it looked beforehand.
After clearing out the old car, he sawed it in half using some pretty hefty equipment.
You have to see how he made it on the NEXT page!
Then he welded a frame in for the opening.
Next he capped it with a steel sheet.
He made sure to close in the bottom and the sunroof.
He then installed a tow bar and a third wheel.
He filled in the gaps with window foam.

Then cut it to the correct shape.
Then the foam was sealed in.
Next, he leveled the trailer and installed the support bar on his vehicle.
The wheels were then installed and lowered.
To add more strength, he coated the foam and structure in fiberglass.
