Ronald Reagan was known by his well-earned nickname "the great communicator." With his down to Earth nature, and ability to discuss a complicated subject in layman's terms, Reagan will be hailed as one of the best orators since Cicero.
While the 40th president was known for his incredible speaking abilities, a lot of people seem to forget that he was a bit of a comedian as well. His sense of humor was well-documented over the eight years of his presidency. When the audience was expecting a serious anecdote, Reagan would suddenly surprise them with a joke out of nowhere, and it always got a laugh.
Even when he was shot in a failed assassination attempt, Reagan achieved legendary comedic status when he reportedly said to the doctors who were about to operate on him: "I hope you're all Republicans." Hopefully the adorable little girl who visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show will know that little fact about the estimable Reagan!
