Bradley Cooper Accepts His Award For “American Sniper” With A Touching Message To War Veterans

It's too easy to forget the fact that so much of our freedom comes at the cost of soldiers' lives and at the expense of their families' stability.

Veterans who are fortunate enough to come home aren't always fortunate enough to return the same way they left. Some come home with injuries, like double-amputee Noah Galloway, while others lose out on the big things, like this veteran who never graduated high school.

Those who serve, as well as their families, pay a great price and we may never be able to repay them.

At the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, Bradley Cooper did what he could to offer his solidarity and gratitude to the men and women in uniform out there.

The actor may have been snubbed at the Oscars for his role in American Sniper, where he portrayed real life sniper Chris Kyle, a veteran with PTSD, but the actor was honored at the MTV Movie Awards with the "Best Male Performance" award.

Cooper used his speech not to bask in glory, but to thank the folks who made his award-winning role possible.

"I want to thank MTV and the fans … It's because of you, you brought awareness to the men and women and their families in the military and what they do for us on a daily basis," he said.
