Fans Have Mixed Reactions After John Stamos Poses In Bald Cap In ‘Solidarity’ After Dave Coulier Cancer Diagnosis

A few days after Dave Coulier shared his cancer diagnosis with the public, John Stamos took to social media to share his support for his former Full House costar and longtime friend. In photos shared on November 18, 2024, Dave had a shaved head. To “show some love and solidarity,” John, who has always been known for his thick head of hair, decided to wear a bald cap, sparking controversy in the process.

On November 13, Dave, 65, told People that he has been diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He told the publication that in October, he saw a doctor for an upper respiratory infection. The infection caused a lot of swelling, so his doctor recommended he do several diagnostic tests, including a biopsy.

After getting the tests, Dave learned that he had a “very aggressive” type of cancer. “I went from, I got a little bit of a head cold to I have cancer, and it was pretty overwhelming,” Dave told the publication, calling the experience “a really fast roller coaster ride of a journey.”

On November 18, John Stamos, 61, shared three photos featuring his former Full House costar. One of the pictures shows John shaving Dave’s head. In each photo, John sports a bald cap. Explaining his reason for doing so in the caption, John wrote, “Nothing like throwing on a bald cap and flexing some Photoshop skills to show some love and solidarity with my bro.”

Later in the post, he addressed Dave directly, praising him for the strength he has demonstrated as he navigates his cancer diagnosis. “You’re handling this with so much strength and positivity—it’s inspiring,” John wrote. ” I know you’re going to get through this, and I’m proud to stand with you every step of the way. I love you.”

Additionally, John added a heartfelt shoutout to Dave’s wife, Melissa. He called her “the most wonderfulest” and said she is Dave’s “true life line.”

While some Instagram users thought John’s post was sweet, others were not impressed by his attempt to show solidarity with his old friend at a difficult time.

“I’m sorry John but wearing a bald cap doesn’t show your support to your friend,” one person commented. “Shave your head if you really want to tribute to him. It grows back!”

Another person called John’s tribute to his friend and former costar “so cringey and embarrassing.”

Others defended John’s decision to sport a bald cap in the photos.

One fan wrote: “I bet Dave found it hilarious! After all, laughter is the best medicine.”

Ultimately, it seems like John wanted to stand by Dave and make him laugh at the same time, and it looks like he was able to accomplish both goals.
