This 4-Year-Old’s Mommy Wasn’t Feeling Good. What He Did? He Saved Her Life!

One of the most important lessons impressed upon us as children is what to do when there's a crisis. We’re taught to recite our home address and phone number, to stop drop and roll in case of a fire, and to dial 911 if there’s an emergency. It’s invaluable knowledge that has equipped children with a fundamental understanding of how to protect themselves and others, and it’s enabled many kids to save their own lives as well as those of others.

We reported recently on a little girl who knew exactly what to do as her dad was suffering a heart attack, immediately putting a call into dispatch and clearly describing (in the most adorable way imaginable), her father’s symptoms. We hear her stay on the phone the whole time, remain calm, and even go as far as to clarify that they’re in their jammies (the way she saw it, not exactly dressed to have visitors). But her call ultimately saved her dad’s life.

The below video is another example of a child whose call for help allowed paramedics to save his mother’s life. The most remarkable part? He was only 4 years old. While he didn’t know his home address, he did work bravely with the dispatcher to help identify his home and signal for help when they arrived close to where he lived.
