When a fire erupted at the Ashford Druid Hills apartments, residents looked on helplessly as DeKalb fire rescue crews attempted to battle the blaze.
Caitlin Strischek was inconsolable throughout the traumatic experience, as her dog Marley was still trapped inside. When the rescue team decided it was safe to go in, they went looking for the beloved pooch. Mere minutes later, one firefighter returned with the dog safely in his arms.
"She told us where it was and the dog was sitting there on the chair waiting for someone to come rescue it," firefighter Monty Adams said.
The beautiful moment in which Strischek is reunited with her dog, whom she calls her best friend, was captured on camera — and this joyful reunion will just melt your heart!
"Oh my God! My dog! My dog is alive, oh my gosh! Thank you," Strischek is heard saying in the video below. "Thank you so much. Thank you. I was terrified. He's OK. I'm so happy."
It's simply amazing to see these firefighters team up to pull off one miraculous rescue. This could have ended very badly had it not been for the quick-thinking rescuer. These amazing heroes will restore your faith in humanity.
