Chrissy Teigen Shares 4-Year-Old Luna’s Reaction To Her And John Bringing Home Baby Jack’s Ashes

Chrissy Teigen continues to be open about her life after pregnancy loss.

Chrissy and husband John Legend lost their third child, a baby boy they call Jack, 20 weeks into the pregnancy. It has been heartbreaking for their entire family. Chrissy and John have taken particular care with how they handle the situation with their kids.

They've been very open with 4-year-old Luna and 2-year-old Miles. Their approach is part spiritual, part realistic. They're committed to keeping communication about Jack and their family open.

Chrissy recently shared how that is going in an Instagram post marveling at her daughter's empathy. Chrissy explains that baby Jack's ashes came home. Luna felt it needed something more. She added a teddy bear and her favorite snack with the ashes to welcome the baby home.

In another clip, Luna is introducing herself to the bear and to baby Jack. It's an incredibly sweet moment that shows us just how capable children are.

Chrissy Teigen continues to share the realities of a deeply personal time in her life. In early October, Chrissy and husband John Legend shared that they had experienced pregnancy loss at 20 weeks. Chrissy delivered their baby boy, Jack, and the family said their goodbyes.

At that time, Chrissy was heartbroken but found comfort in the beautiful family she does have. She expressed her and John's gratitude for both their family and their larger support system.

"We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we've been able to experience," Chrissy wrote.

"But everyday can't be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it."

Chrissy has recently begun returning to public life. She's still being very honest and raw about the ups and downs of the experience. She recently shared what happened when she and John brought home baby Jack's ashes.

Chrissy shared two videos on Instagram. In the first, she shows how Luna set up a little memorial around the box containing Jack's ashes.

"This is the cutest, most beautiful thing I have ever seen," Chrissy said.

"We just got baby Jack's ashes back. They're in here for now with some blessed holy Thai string, and Luna put a little therapy bear around him."

Luna even left behind something special to her.

"The best part is, I came down and she gave him a piece of her favorite snack: A tiny piece of Pirate's Booty," Chrissy noted.

"She's the … she's amazing."

In the second video, Luna can be seen on the couch with the setup.

"Hi guys. Hi, this is baby Jack, and I'm Teddy. I'm Luna," she said, making introductions all around.

"How are you doing today?"

In the caption for the two videos, Chrissy was honest about how her kids help her in times where she struggles.

"im just thinking a lot about jack today," she began, "our house is very open about life, death, grief, everything really. we try to explain things well and answer every question imaginable in a beautiful, spiritual but literal way."

"I know this is a weird post but I just wanted to share these to always remember my incredibly empathetic little mini."

She continued, saying, "life is infinitely better with her in it. I miss u, jack. we miss you a lot."

In her essay before returning to public life, Chrissy opened up about how important it was to her and John that Jack's presence be part of Luna's and Miles' lives. It is clear they are deeply committed to that.

"Jack will always be loved, explained to our kids as existing in the wind and trees and the butterflies they see," Chrissy wrote.

Chrissy and John also memorialized Jack in tattoo form. Both have matching tattoos with each other's names, followed by Luna and Miles, all in a scrawling script. The couple each added Jack to their wrists.
