Texas’ Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines are set to be guest “Sharks” on season 17 of Shark Tank, Variety reported.
The long-running ABC series features small business owners, start-up founders, and generally entrepreneurial types pitching their ideas to a panel of investor judges.
The Gaineses rose to fame with the HGTV home renovation series Fixer Upper, which ended in 2018. Since then, they launched the lifestyle brand and joint media venture Magnolia Network with Warner Bros. Discovery. The network has created original programming with recent series including Mini Reni and Back to the Frontier.
“From dream home renovations to making dream deals in the Tank!” read a logline on Shark Tank’s Instagram.
Texas jeweler Kendra Scott of the eponymous brand will also be a guest Shark.
Former Dallas Mavericks majority owner Mark Cuban had been a familiar face on the series, having joined officially as a judge for season three in 2012. Cuban’s last episode on the show aired in May.
His decision to depart Shark Tank was influenced by his family. Cuban told The Dallas Morning News in 2023 he was going to focus on spending “more time with my kids before they get too old and start ignoring me even more than they do now!”
New episodes of Shark Tank will air during the fall on Wednesdays.
