Pink Celebrates 15 Years Of Marriage To Carey Hart: ‘Sometimes Being Stubborn Pays Off’

Pink and Carey Hart have been through a lot in their relationship. The two broke up for nearly a year before Carey moved to make Pink his wife.

Married life was good to the couple for a bit, but their problems crept back up after a while. The two looked all but certain to split, but they were able to salvage their relationship. In the years since, they've spoken openly about how much they have to work at their relationship and how gratifying that work has been for them as individuals and a couple.

They've also grown their little family some. The two are parents to 4-year-old Jameson Moon and 9-year-old Willow Sage. They're all about raising their kids to be caring, compassionate, and true to themselves.

You can't help but be happy for the couple for beating the odds, especially when they celebrate each other. Both Pink and Carey recently shared some words about each other in celebration of their 15th wedding anniversary. It's been a "wild ride," as Pink puts it, but it's clear this couple is in it for the long haul, whatever it takes.

It's hard to believe Pink and Carey Hart have been married over a decade, but the beloved couple is well on their way to a second one. The 41-year-old singer and the 45-year-old former motocross star celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on January 7. The two have been very open about the work that's been put into their relationship, so fans know it hasn't always been easy for the couple.

Pink celebrated the milestone with a heartfelt Instagram message to her husband.

"15 years. Proud of us babe. See, sometimes being stubborn pays off," she started her caption.

"What a wild ride it’s been, once we learned how to stay in our race line," she continued.

"Here's to at least the next 15 months hahahAh. I love you and I love our family. ❤️❤️."

Carey shared his own message for Pink.

"15 years w/ this amazing woman! [Expletive], baby!!!!!" he wrote.

"There is no other woman that I would want to go through this crazy world with than you. Thanks for being a great friend, wife, mother, and person."

Pink opened up about the relationship back in September while reflecting on the difficult year together.

"My friend @jbpitts2 took this photo of us. He’s still my favorite sweet little dirtball. He and I have been at this a long time, and it is our relentless and stubborn idealism that keeps us together," she wrote.

"Marriage is awful, wonderful, comfort and rage. It is boring, terrifying, and a total nail biter. It is loving another fallible creature while trying to love yourself. It is a lifetime of coming back to the table. People laugh at us because we're either fighting or laughing. They roll their eyes when we talk about therapy."

"But I'll tell you what. It's worth it," she continued. "All of it.

"Even when it isn't. Therapy isn't for weak people or hippies or liberals. It's for broken people that want to be whole. It's for runaways that want a family. It's a lesson on how to sit down and listen. How to love yourself so that the other person can, too. I love you babe. I'm grateful we made it to this photo @hartluck."

Among the challenges the couple faced this year, Pink and son Jameson both contracted [the virus]. She wrote an essay about the experience for Mother's Day.

"Battling [the virus] along with my 3-year-old son was the most physically and emotionally challenging experience I have gone through as a mother," she wrote in the op-ed shared by NBC News.

"Weeks after receiving our test results, my son was still ill and feverish. It was a terrifying time, not knowing what might come next."

Thankfully, both recovered, which also afforded the family a lot of quality time together.

"Mother's Day is this weekend and I have been reflecting on the wonderful, yet challenging gift of time that life in [isolation] has meant for me and my children," she wrote.

"To be a mom, a teacher, a cook, a confidant, and a [expletive] dream chaser all at once is no small feat. Mamas everywhere, you are doing amazing."

Pink and Carey were married in Costa Rica on January 7, 2006. The couple enjoyed marital bliss for a while before having some struggles. They almost pulled the plug on the relationship in 2008, which Pink channeled into her music. Thankfully, asking Carey to be in the video for her single "So What" got the two back together.

They continued to work on their relationship over the next few years. It was becoming parents that made some of the biggest changes for Pink and Carey. They welcomed daughter Willow in 2011 and son Jameson in 2016.

"I am completely changed since being a mom. I'm much more open. I'm much more accepting of myself. I'm much more thoughtful," Pink told Today of herself as a mom.

"I think about the world more, and what we're leaving for these kids, and the direction we're headed in."
