While social media may get a bad reputation form time to time, from being overloaded with selfies, highly focused on celebrity bad behavior, and taking away from personal interaction. There is also a lot of good that has come from social media being so big and reaching so wide.
Most recently, millions of people took to social media to share their admiration and support for Caitlyn Jenner (formerly Bruce Jenner), as she transitions from male to female. The movement has created conversation all over the world, bringing to light the challenges that transgendered people face.
You may also remember the phenomenon that was the ice bucket challenge. The challenge, which required you to dump a bucket of ice on your head and make a donation after challenging friends and family to do the same, raised millions of dollars for ALS.
Then, a few months ago, a new challenge to raise money for ALS popped up and took over social media: The Twizzler challenge, which looks like something straight out of Lady and the Tramp, and requires a pair to eat from one end of a Twizzler and meet in the middle.
This New Yorker decided to keep this awesome (and tasty) movement going, continuing to give to ALS foundations (if you're interested in making a donation, you can do so here).
Please SHARE to spread the word, and take the challenge yourself!
