Prince William And Kate Middleton’s 10th Anniversary Celebration Will Likely Be Quiet

Prince William and Kate Middleton are celebrating 10 years of marriage on April 29. It's an exciting milestone for the couple who will one day lead the royal family.

It's also a complicated time to celebrate such a big milestone. The royal family is still mourning the loss of Prince Philip. Relationships in the family have been rocky for months, arguably years. There have even been rumors that their own relationship has gone through some tumultuous times.

Whether or not there's any truth to that, publicly William and Kate have maintained a united front through all of life's ups and downs.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have been spending some time in the country ahead of their 10th wedding anniversary. On April 28, the day before they officially celebrate 10 years of marriage, the couple visited Manor Farm in Little Stainton for their first royal engagement outside of London since December.

It's also their first appearance since the emotional funeral of Prince Philip. The two seemed happy to be visiting others. They were able to drive tractors and check out the GPS technology alongside a farmer at the fifth-generation family farm. They also visited sheep and cattle.

William and Kate also visited a youth project in Durham. They talked to young people who had completed their Duke of Edinburgh's Awards.

"Do you know he was my grandfather?" he asked.

"Sadly he died a few weeks ago. He would have been so pleased that you got your awards."

The two are expected to celebrate their anniversary privately, as they have in years past. Fans of the couple are excited for a new documentary looking back at William and Kate's wedding day, one decade later. Royal Wedding: A Day To Remember is an hourlong special that will air on Friday, available to watch on BBC One at 7:30 p.m.

The documentary features some of the incredible people involved in making the fairy-tale royal wedding come true. It will explore some of the ways the couple deviated from tradition, like having Pippa Middleton as maid of honor and Prince Harry as best man, which isn't typically done in royal weddings.

The couple also broke with tradition by not leaving for their honeymoon on the night of their wedding. They spent the night at Buckingham Palace before leaving for their honeymoon in the Seychelles.

Royal expert Duncan Larcombe thinks the two have fared well through their first decade of marriage and commitment as senior royals.

"Like any couple, they've had their ups and downs, their rows and tensions. But their commitment to the Queen and to this country has been unwavering, and the controversy over Meghan and Harry’s departure from the UK has made that even clearer," he told OK! Magazine.

He also explained why they opt for quiet celebrations for these events. "An anniversary dinner or reception is obviously impossible because of the [health crisis]. And I don’t think the Queen will bestow any new honours or titles on the couple either," he noted.

"In 2019, she marked Kate's eighth year in The Firm by appointing her a Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order. But she is conscious of the fact that their status could soon change dramatically – when her own reign comes to an end. Whatever she decides, as a Queen and grandmother, she will not let this occasion pass without paying tribute to Kate and William."
