So when I saw the photographs of what this surgeon did to calm a young patient, my heart absolutely melted.

After it was posted to Chinese social media, this image of a surgeon comforting a 2-year-old girl before her surgery has gone absolutely viral. It was reported that the young girl could not stop crying prior to going in for heart surgery at a hospital in Zhejiang, China.
Deputy Director of Cardiac Surgery, Shi Zhuo, sat the young girl on his lap and played cartoons on his phone to help her calm down. Shi Zhuo said, "I went to see her almost every day because children need the familiarization process. It's part of our job. On that day, she started crying as soon as she got into the operating theatre."
He continued, "Before this picture was taken, I took her to find her dad several times, but she kept crying and saying, 'I want Daddy' — so I said let's watch some cartoons and then find him." After the young child calmed down, the doctors were able to give her anesthesia to put her to sleep for surgery.
It has been reported that Dr. Shi Zhuo has a 6-year-old of his own. He said, "As parents, we understand that the children are scared and can appreciate the worry of the family." The girl's father reported that the surgery was a great success and that she
