Weddings are all about two people coming together and celebrating their unconditional, unending love.
Right?
Well, yes, in theory. But weddings are also about meticulous planning, making about a million different small decisions, and ultimately hoping that nothing too terrible goes wrong on the big day.
Sometimes, though, things do go wrong. After all, even the best wedding planners, cooks, florists, and type-A brides and grooms are only human. We all let some things slip through the cracks. Sometimes it's not even anyone's fault, and the world's forces just throw a curve ball on your special day.
These 12 folks reveal the worst part of their big day. The best part is that all of them have the wherewithal to look past the slipups and relish the fact that they got to marry the love of their life on that day.

"My one brother-in-law is an actual chef, my other brother-in-law thinks he is one. The one who is a chef seasoned the meat and went outside to get a drink. Wannabe chef brother-in-law comes along, sees the meat on the counter and salts the meat rendering our main coarse inedible." – Congzilla

"When making our rounds through the tables at the reception my aunt asked me, 'So why are we here again? Why were we even invited?' 7 years later and I still have no idea what [her deal] was that day. Aside from that, everything went swimmingly." – Reddit user

"Didn't serve the cake. We did the whole cutting the cake tradition, but nobody actually served it. Shame too, it was good cake…all things considered that's actually not that bad. Still, cake!" – ThePrince_OfWhales

"Sure enough, the second we get into cars to go to the site the sky opens up. Hail, golf ball sized hail. In Connecticut. Days before June. An hour before the wedding. I was sure my windshield would break due to the impacts on the way to the site, but we all made it OK.
"The hail passed quickly enough, but we had to move the wedding inside. It went pretty well after that, but six months later we still get reminded of the time it hailed at our wedding." – BromanJenkins

"I showed up 5 minutes before I was supposed to walk out, everyone was going nuts, and then I forgot to bring the undergarments for my soon to be wife. Rather than opting for the naughty she rolled up her jeans and wore them underneath." – Reddit User

"As my wife and the girls was getting ready, she went to zip up her sister's dress and the zipper de-railed. They ended up calling my grandmother (who is / was a seamstress) to sew my now sister-in-law into her dress. Took them a while, and as it turns out grandma's hands aren't as nimble as they used to be, so there were a few needle to skin moments.
"They ended up being an hour late to the ceremony because of it." – cradossk

"I had a laughing fit during the vows, had to keep asking the registrar to repeat herself. My mother in law then started crying which just made it a whole lot worse (the laughing)." – KumoDreams
