If nothing goes wrong on your wedding day, you've basically experienced a bonafide miracle.
Most of the time, though, the little things that go wrong aren't enough to ruin your day. After all, isn't it all about getting hitched to that one special person with whom you're meant to spend the rest of your life?
These wedding nightmares, however, sometimes manage to put a damper on the whole day. Often, it's because the two were never meant to be with each other in the first place. In those cases, maybe it's best that the nightmare happened before the folks got married or suffered years together.
Have you ever been at a wedding where something went totally wrong? Was the couple able to brush it off and let their love prevail despite the total nightmare that transpired during the ceremony or the reception?
When something happens as bad as the stories below, sometimes the best thing to do is laugh it off and count your blessings.

“My English teacher’s husband plays organ at weddings. She told us that in 20ish years it had never happened, but the closest they came was during the classic 'is there anyone here present with a reason blah blah,' a massive storm broke out with proper hardcore thunder and lightning.
"The families were very Christian so it took the priest a good 10 minutes to reassure everyone it was just bad weather, and God wasn't angry.” – OldClockMan

“When I was very little (like 4 or 5), I was the ring bearer at a wedding. I was supposed to walk down the aisle and do a little dance with the flower girl. Once I got to the front, the girl reached for my hand, and I turned tail and ran away from the altar shouting, ‘NO, MOM! I DON'T WANT TO GET MARRIED!’
"I had thought that I was the one being married, and I was not happy with that thought. Right after that happened, the mother of the bride started wailing and saying that the wedding was ruined. She wanted to call it all off, but the bride and groom ignored her and had the wedding anyways. It was an all around funny moment that the family loves to retell at gatherings.” – Boofyostaff

“I attended a wedding where the groom, when asked to say ‘I do,’ passed out straight away, falling down a small flight of stairs. After coming to a few seconds later, he got a look of panic in his eyes and ran out of the building.
"Five minutes go by. Someone goes out after him. Then 10. Then 20. Several people have left now to see what's going on. Now people are wondering if he'll come back at all.
"He re-enters the church now, with only his mostly open tuxedo jacket on and a bare, hairy chest showing. He looks pale as a ghost. He apologizes for being ‘too hot’ (it was the middle of winter).
"He slowly walks up to the altar, bare chest showing. And the ceremony resumes. Chest hair and all. They actually did get married that way.
"But man, that was flipping weirdest wedding I've ever witnessed.” – flat5

“I was at one where a girl stood up, talked trash about the wife and confessed her love for the groom who was an ex 10 years ago. We all knew she felt this way, but didn't think she actually would do it at the wedding.
"Maid of honor slapped her in the face and the girl was kindly escorted out.” – Reddit User

“The groom cuts a piece of cake to feed it to bride and shoves the cake in her face to be funny. Bride starts crying/screaming and throws cake at groom. Father of the bride comes over and punches groom in the face.

“At my parents' wedding the priest started with ‘We are gathered at this funeral today…’ the worst part is he started going on with the typical funeral speech until he was stopped.
"To be fair he was well past retirement age.” – McJennifer

“At my cousin's wedding, the priest made a long speech going on and on about how wonderful and responsible it was of the couple to get married once they got pregnant out of wedlock.
