Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck Are Making Their Kids The Priority As Reunion Heats Up

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck aren't hiding the fact that they're getting reacquainted.

The former power couple crossed paths again following respective breakups. Jennifer and ex Alex Rodriguez officially called off their engagement in April, following months of speculation. Ben and ex Ana de Armas split in January.

Things have certainly changed for the two since they were last together about 17 years ago. Both have married, become parents, and divorced. That last part is the most important in their lives moving forward, as both stars have reportedly committed to putting their relationships with their kids ahead of their re-budding romance.

Things are reportedly getting serious between Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. Their unexpected reunion has been one of the pleasant surprises of 2021, with the couple rekindling things between them after 17 years apart. The romance has been delightful for the two and for their fans, but sources close to them say they've got good perspective on the situation.

"She has to ensure that she is taking her children into account," a source close to Jennifer told Page Six. The 51-year-old is mom to 13-year-old twins Max and Emme.

"They are her priority."

The last few weeks have found Jennifer and Ben spending time together in Montana and Miami, but they're both also making sure that they're making ample time for their kids. She was spotted with her kids in Miami shortly after Ben departed, also taking some time to catch up with ex-husband Marc Anthony over coffee.

Jennifer has been living in Miami recently, which presents another complication in her romance with Ben. Ben calls Los Angeles home to spend as much time possible with his kids. He was spotted out with oldest daughter Violet just days after returning from Miami. Days later, he spent time with his younger two, Seraphina and Samuel.

For Jennifer, however, she's thinking it's worth the work it will take. "She's 51 and has always put importance on chemistry," the source noted.

"She's wondering how many times lightning can strike. She feels like he has grown since they were together."

"They will continue to travel back and forth between Los Angeles and Miami," another insider told People.

"They are very happy together. This is not a casual relationship. They are taking it seriously and want it to be long-lasting."

"They don't want to hide anymore," the insider explained.

"They are both excited about their relationship. They want to make sure they do everything they can to make this work."
