Ben Stiller And Christine Taylor Confirm They’re Back Together After Separation In 2017

Nearly five years after separating, Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor are sharing some good news.

The couple is officially back together, and they have the health crisis to thank for it. Ben revealed in an interview with Esquire that Christine felt it was best for the kids that they all lived together in the early, frightening days of the health crisis.

It's been speculated for the last year or so that the couple has been back together. They're regularly spotted together, though neither has commented on the matter until now.

In 2017, Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor shocked fans by announcing their separation after 17 years of marriage. In 2020, as the health crisis began, the co-parents had to figure out how to navigate the situation.

The two were living apart at the time. Christine felt it would be best for Ben to move into the family home so that they could both continue seeing the kids.

"Then, over the course of time, it evolved," he shared.

"We were separated and got back together and we're happy about that," he continued.

"It's been really wonderful for all of us. Unexpected, and one of the things that came out of the [health crisis]."

Ben believes the time apart offered both he and Christine some perspective on their issues.

"I think we have a respect for the ways that we're similar and the ways we're different. And I think accepting that, you can really appreciate someone more because you're not trying to get them to change for you," he shared.

"Once you accept that, you save a lot of energy."

"'This is something that works for me; this is something that doesn't work for me,'" he continued.

"If you have that trust level with your partner, you know that me saying 'I don't like doing that thing' is not me saying 'I don't like you.'"

The couple has two children, 19-year-old Ella and 16-year-old Quinlin. Ben shares he's been working on his relationships with his children during these recent turbulent years of his life. Those moments, along with his reconciliation with Christine, have given him some of the greatest joys in recent years.
