Thomas Markle, the estranged father of Meghan Markle, is in the headlines again. Thomas just did an interview with Dan Wootton on GB News. In it, he made a shocking reveal.
The interview was teased by the host on Twitter, who wrote, "Meghan’s dad Thomas Markle will make a shock announcement live on my show tonight that will rock the Sussexes. Plus, he’ll react for the first time to Prince Harry’s latest claims about Charles, William and the Queen."
The shocking announcement was that Mr. Markle plans to fly to London in June for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. He says he will attempt to reunite with his daughter and meet Prince Harry and the couple's two children for the first time.
The 77-year-old spoke from his home in Rosarito, Mexico. "I'm looking forward to it [flying over for the Jubilee]," he said. "I'm going to show my respect for the Queen and I'm going to make sure that the Queen understands that my entire family respects the Queen and the Royals."
He continued, "We admire them and we want them to know that's how we feel about them and that's how we feel about England.
"I would like to meet with Prince Charles and thank him for walking my daughter down the aisle, and also to meet and talk with him because I think we have a lot in common now. We've pretty much both been ghosted by our children."
The interview was shocking in just about every way. Not only did he say he was coming to London, seemingly without an invite, he also took every opportunity to criticize Harry and Meghan. He said it was rude of them to not bring their children to see the Queen when they attended the Invictus Games last week.
"Not bringing the children was like another slap in the face to the Queen," he said. "It was very rude and the wrong thing to do."
"It makes no sense at all," he continued. "I don't know if it's Meghan or if it's Harry but the Queen should have every right to see her great-grandchildren and I should have the right to see my grandchildren. So if they show up I hope they bring the kids."
When Thomas was asked if he expected to see Meghan and her family in London, he said they would likely avoid him at all costs. "I'm getting the feeling that if they know I'm coming, they won't be coming. But if they do come I would love to reach out, speak with them and try to figure out what was wrong and how we can repair it.
"I don't see that happening. But I certainly would like to try."
Meghan and Harry have voiced concerns about their personal safety when traveling to London. Thomas Markle critiqued that, too.
"I think it's ridiculous," he declared. "He knows how much security you're going to have. He's totally safe in that situation. So I don't understand the things he says and I have so little respect for that man. I think he's an idiot."
