A Troy, Michigan, couple getting married knew that their 2-year-old son would make a great ring bearer. Never did they imagine that he'd end up being the star of the day.
Kristie Mihelich was moments from marrying Bobby Mihelich on April 22 at Planterra Conservatory in West Bloomfield, Michigan. She appeared at the end of the aisle, ready to walk down. The couple's son, 2-year-old Pierson, was standing at the other end with his dad.
When he saw his mom, he threw his arms open and excitedly began to wave. "Hey mom!" he shouted, to the delight of everyone in attendance. Then Pierson made a run for it.
"It was the sweetest thing," she told Good Morning America.
"I thought that he would just stand there and wait for me but no, he was running to his mommy."
The special moment, which was caught by the wedding photographer and several guests in attendance, has been shared online again and again. Kristie is happy to see how much joy it has brought people.
"The more it gets shared, the happier I am because we need happy things in life right now," she said.
"He was so happy that he couldn't contain himself," she said.
"He just ran down the aisle at me and I honestly have never felt a more sweeter moment in my entire life. And I'll never forget that feeling."
