There are all sorts of reasons for failed marriages, ranging from growing apart to having different family-related or life goals to infidelity.
This clip posted to the Plugged In YouTube channel tells a whole different side to things, including a woman who admits to divorcing her loving husband because she wanted money and a more lucrative lifestyle.
In this very open dialogue, this woman is asked about her first marriage and why she initially wanted a divorce.
“Because I really wanted something different,” she explains. “It’s very unfortunate because he was the most loving, kind person. I had all of the love and support that I could have ever wanted.”
She divulges that her husband has since passed away, but she now sees things a lot more clearly than she did back when they parted ways.
She explains that during that particular time period in her life, she found herself seeking out a different lifestyle to which she was accustomed. And even though she watched her husband work exceptionally long hours, they both weren’t reaching those financial goals that she had set her sights on.
“I was selfish and took advantage of a real unfortunate situation,” she explains. She now feels a true sense of regret for divorcing a loving and supportive husband to go in search of a more prestigious lifestyle that he wasn’t able to provide.
She now wishes that she had the strength of character and perseverance to be a “better” partner at the time.
