Police Called To Sen. Ted Cruz’s Home After Daughter Suffers Self-Inflicted Stab Wounds

Authorities received a frightening 911 call on Tuesday night from the home of Texas GOP Senator Ted Cruz.

Houston police responded to the call, which was for reports of a teen with self-inflicted stab wounds, according to KTRK.

The local police received the report of a 14-year-old with self-inflicted stab wounds on their arms. The teen was located in the neighborhood River Oaks, where Cruz's family lives.

The teen was taken to the hospital. Authorities could not say whether the 911 call involved a member of Cruz's family. However, Cruz's office did release a statement on Tuesday night.

"This is a family matter and thankfully their daughter is okay," Cruz's representatives told KTRK in a statement. "There were no serious injuries. The family requests the media respect their daughter's privacy at this time."

Earlier this year, Ted Cruz's family received unwanted attention over reports that his youngest daughter was bisexual. She had reportedly shared her story in a series of now-private TikTok videos. In them, she also addressed the struggle to cope with her father's conservative views.
