Kevin Costner Returns To Iowa’s ‘Field Of Dreams’ Ahead Of 2021 White Sox Vs. Yankees Game

Field of Dreams is a family favorite movie, but on August 12, 2021, that movie will take a step into reality.

The Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees are set to square off at the iconic location amid the cornfields of Dyersville, Iowa. Dwier Brown, an actor who starred in the film, is amazed at what was brought to life there.

"There's just a chill that goes down your spine and I can't explain it," he told WBBM Chicago.

"They somehow managed to recreate it here."

It's an extra-special feeling because so many people have a special place in their heart for the film and the game itself.

"Everyone has a Field of Dreams connection. You know, the movie itself, and playing catch with your dad, and all that," said head groundskeeper Murray Cook.

"When you come out and actually see it, I’m just so excited to have the players see it and the fans see it."

Kevin Costner, who played farmer Ray Kinsella in the film, also has joined the crowd in Iowa. Fox shared a photo of Kevin playing catch on the field online, to which he commented, "Felt so good to be back."

Seats at the stadium for this monumental game were far from cheap. Secondhand tickets for the sold-out game were starting around $900 and going into the thousands, making it the most expensive regular season game in baseball history. For those who bought tickets, the experience promises to be worth it, with players even emerging onto the field from the cornfields.
