We have heard a lot about Alec Baldwin over the past few years. The horrible incident on the Rust movie set, going into hiding because of the incident, and his wife Hilaria being caught up in a Spanish heritage and cultural appropriation scandal.
The New York Post shared a video from its segment "Famous Fakers," with Hilaria Baldwin being the subject of conversation. The segment starts off by discussing Hilaria from the beginning. Hilaria was born on January 6, 1984, as Hilary Thomas. The yoga entrepreneur shot into the spotlight in 2012 when she married Alec Baldwin.
Throughout her marriage to Alec, Hilaria has continuously posted about her life on social media. She shares bits about fitness, her numerous pregnancies, and her upbringing in Spain.
Even though Hilaria claimed to have been born in Spain, many people suggested that she was faking her accent. With people questioning her, Hilaria seemed to take matters into her own hands and started to tweet and post more content on social media in Spanish.
When Hilaria was asked by her followers about the reason why she was posting more often in Spanish, she responded, “Because I spend a lot of my childhood in Spain, my fam lives there.”
After Hilaria and Alec tied the knot, she did a lot of interviews gushing about her new life. Viewers started to notice, though, that her accent was a weird mix between Spanish and American.
Back in 2013, Alec claimed that his wife was from Spain when he was on the Late Show With David Letterman. In the beginning, Hilaria was praised for embracing her nationality. She was named one of the best dressed in 2013 in Latina Magazine, and in an interview with Mom.com, she revealed that she was raising her daughter as bilingual.

Even though there were many publications stating that Hilaria was born in Spain and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, she was actually born in Boston, Massachusetts. Her parents are Kathryn Hayward and David Thomas Jr. Kathryn worked as a doctor for most of her life in Massachusetts, and David was a practicing attorney, but he also had a degree in Spanish literature!
