A 54-year-old woman and long COVID-19 patient is seen getting emotional in a video that shows her being able to smell coffee for the first time in two years. Posted on the Cleveland Clinic's TikTok account, the woman's reaction shows just how much COVID has still been affecting people.
Jennifer Henderson got COVID in January 2021. Since then, she hadn't been able to smell or taste properly.
"Most food tasted like garbage, and I couldn’t smell anything," she said.
Henderson, who loved cooking and going out to eat with her husband, tried many treatments, such as smell training and acupuncture, to try to get her senses back. Nothing seemed to help, until she heard about an experimental treatment. That treatment worked almost immediately.

“It was the best smell ever,” she told NBC News. “I just cried like a baby.”
